Free Arm
This Singer Merritt 8734 is in excellent condition mechanically and great to excellent cosmetically. (There is a small discolored spot on the very top of the machine.) It can do the stitches shown on the front of the machine with the included white-handled cam. The black-handled cam, which does extra stitches is not included. An all-purpose foot, two screwdrivers, a seam ripper, a bobbin, the foot control with power cord, instruction manual, white-handled stitch cam, and the extension table are all included. Who is Statewide Sewing?
Statewide Sewing is a family-owned business. Jerry, in the sewing machine sales business for over 40 years, had established sales and satisfied customers primarily in the Midwest region of the United States via his sewing stores and motel sales. He was one of the largest dealers of the Necchi brand and won many awards for his sales performance and customer service with Necchi, New Home, Singer, White, etc. He unexpectedly passed on one day after open heart surgery in 2005. The loss of Jerry would have meant the end of sewing machine sales in the family. However, his daughter, having grown up and actively involved in the business, decided to start her own sewing sales business in 2005, to keep the family tradition alive and honor her father's memory. Her mother, with over 30 years of experience, also helps in the business. Through this website, we have been able to serve the needs of the entire United States and many countries worldwide. Our friendly staff is ready to help you find the right part, accessory, or sewing machine for your needs.
How much does shipping & tax cost? What are your policies?
All items on this page show the shipping cost in the price per item if the item is shipped to anywhere in the continental United States. If you are purchasing items via our shopping cart system, shipping costs have been calculated into each item (unless otherwise specified). All sewing machine purchases and orders over $50.00 also include insurance. (Orders under $50.00 can be insured, at your request, for an additional $2.00 charge.) If the item arrives damaged, please contact us within 72 hours of receipt of the item so we can correct the problem and file a claim with the shipper. Otherwise, all sales are final unless you have authorization from us for a credit less shipping and restocking fee or an exchange. If you want to return or exchange an item, please e-mail or call us for authorization before mailing it back (and do so within 72 hours of receipt of the item). Bulbs
All push-in bases are the same size. The only difference is the shape of the bulb. Many Singers & Sears Kenmores take the bulbs with push-in bases.
The bulb at the very bottom of the above photo fits Necchi BU & Mira, perhaps others; 12 volt, 5-10 watt.
All screw-in bases are NOT the same size. The first (white bulb) is very large, the next two are very small, and the final photo set shows two small-based screw-in bulbs with different shapes. A small based screw-in bulb measures 1.5 inches around, so take a piece of yarn, wrap it around the base of the bulb, and then measure the length of the yarn. If it measures 1.5 inches, then you need a small-based screw-in bulb.
All bulbs are new except for the bulb in upper left corner of the first photo set below, which has been used, though it does still work.

Referring to the photos above, (on the colored surface), we believe the aqua and gray sets are for a Sears Kenmore. The gray set is actually a set of 12....Four are not shown in the photo.
The black "top hat" cams pictured on the far right are for a Singer, most likely the Touch & Sew Fashion Disc Cams. We sell them in sets of any quantity, and you can choose from the following numbers, which are the only numbers we have left in stock:
171### Series: Cams 1, 1, 2, 5, 5, 5, 19, 19
172### Series: Cam 4
Referring to the photos on the green surface,, in the front row on the bottom there is a set of 9 creamy white cams but the EIGHT we have are 51, 53, 53, 54, 55, 56, 59, & 59. They state "Singer" & "Made in U.S.A." and we believe they will fit some Singer Futuras, Singer Touch & Sew 700 series, & Golden Touch & Sew models, but please check to make sure. They may also work on models we are not aware of. They are in the 172### Series. The cams above that set are unidentified.
The cams above, (the cream set and the black set), were acquired with other accessories for a Singer Touch & Sew 758. They likely fit many other Singer Touch & Sew models. The cream set is from the 172### series and includes 51, 52, 54, 56, 58, & 59. The black set is from the 171### series and includes 1, 3, 6, 8, 10, 12, 18 and one from the 174### series, which is Number 9. The 174### series differs from the 171### and 172### series in one main way, which is that the 171### & 172### series has three square cut-outs on the top hat part of the cam and on the base they have one large scallop and two small scallops (one on each side of the large scallop), and the 174### series only has the one large scallop. Since these cams all came in with this machine, we can only assume the 174### cam will work with this machine and others but we are unsure if they are interchangeable.
